I love getting free promotional items. When my company sent me and a few colleagues to one the other week, we actually decided to have a competition between us to see which of us could get the most of them, which started out as a lot of fun. I also had to try to gather some information for my company as I did need to prove that I didn’t just spend the day at home, when I got back to the office. In the end I managed to get five promotional USB pens, four pencils, several mouse mats, a bookmark, three sticky bugs, two pens, a cap, two stress balls, several fabric bags, a selection of sweets and enough business cards and leaflets to fill my recycling box twice over! I did not win the contest, I guess I was just forward enough and quick enough but it was fun taking part.

I am just off on a business trip to Maine. I have never stayed there before and so was not sure which of the Maine hotels would be the most suitable for me. I think that I may just go for a popular hotel chain and then I will know the sort of thing to expect I hope that there will be one fairly close to where I am working. However, a work colleague always stays at a certain one and says that it is really good because the staffs are so nice. I am torn because that one is quite far away from the place that I will need to go to and that means I will have to get up earlier or eat my breakfast more quickly – none of which I like doing. It is nice to take advantage of being in a hotel and taste all of the food on offer and fill up on it a bit. I think I will just search for hotels in Maine on line and see what comes up and then look for one close to my destination. I am sure that there will be something out there which will suit my criteria and be within the company’s budget. I hope so anyway!

My local shoe shop is having a great shoe sale which starts when it opens tomorrow and I am really excited about getting some good bargains. I know all of their womens winter boots will be reduced because we are moving into the summer season and I hope to get a pair in ready for next winter. Last time they had a sale their womens ankle boots were half price and so I am hoping that they may have a similar offer this time as well. I am lucky that my shoe size is small and so they tend to have pairs left in my size, if I was a more common size then I would be unlikely to find anything. I am also looking for a new pair of women’s shoes to wear for work and I know that they have some great styles which would be suitable and I am hoping they may have reduced some of these as well. I am getting really excited about the sale now and although I will not be camping outside the shop tonight I am sure I will be the first queuing outside the door tomorrow and I just cannot wait!
