South Dakota is a state situated in midwestern area of the United States of America. It is named after Lakota and Dakota Sioux American Indian tribes. It is bisected by Missouri River, separated the state into 2 socio-economically district halves, and called by residents as the East River and West River. It is historically dominated by a rural lifestyle and agricultural economy. The state has currently sought to diversify its economy to retain and attract residents.
It is home to the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Other famous spots are Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, Badland National Park, World’s Only Corn Palace and the Fort Sisseton Historic State Park.

Badlands National Park
This Unites States National Park is situated in the southwestern South Dakota. It is marked by formations and rugged terrain that resemble the science fiction landscape of another world. It contains the largest mixed grass prairie in the U.S. this park is also contains the world’s richest fossil beds from Oligocene epoch.
Wind Cave National Park
This park is situated close to the town of Hot Springs in western South Dakota. A large number of cave tours are available, varying in difficulty and length. Tours include Garden of Eden Tour, Natural Entrance Cave Tour, Fairground Cave tour, Candlelight Cave Tour and Wild Cave Tour.
Mount Rushmore National Memorial
This Unite States National Memorial is situated in the American state of South Dakota. This memorial features the faces of 4 former Presidents of the United States of America including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. This memorial is a project of colossal ambition, colossal proportion and colossal achievement. The entrance to this memorial is free.
