If you are looking for a family holiday in Europe this year, you could do worse than to consider Paris as a destination. It is probably a better destination for slightly older families, anyone with children under the age of five might feel that it is not entirely suitable. For those with slightly older children, it is a good opportunity to introduce them to a bit of civilisation! Paris is literally oozing with history that your children should find fascinating, and the location is so beautiful that even the most reluctant Teenager will see something in the place.
There are of course options for your children if they really do not fall in love with their surroundings. Disney Land Paris is only a short distance from Paris and they can take public Transport to this strange land while you continue to enjoy the delights of the most beautiful city in the world!
Be sure to spend time exploring the side streets of the Left Bank – Famous as Ernest Hemmingway’s stamping ground when he was writing. In fact, his famous work, ‘A Moveable Feast’, was set entirely in the Left Bank of Paris, and it is a delightful read whilst staying in the quarter.
You might even be able to find relatively affordable accommodation in this area of Paris, but because of the compact nature of the city, any of the cheap hotels in Paris will be within striking distance.
Forget what I said about kids enjoying Paris. If you think that they will, then great. If not, pack them off somewhere else, and you’ll really be able to enjoy this wonderful city!
